Slazenger announce the King of Swing as ambassador
What better ambassador for Slazenger cricket than the king of swing himself – Lancashire and England star James Anderson?
The famous bowler, who now endorses Slazenger’s new V Series equipment, first burst onto the International scene in 2002 when, at the age of 20, he faced Australia in a One-Day International in Melbourne. He made his full Test debut in 2003 against Zimbabwe and has since established himself as a key force in both the England and Lancashire teams.
Earmarked as ‘one to watch’ from a young age, Anderson was the first player in 54 years to win the England Young Cricketer of the Year Award unchallenged. Since then, the young talent has developed into oneof the most feared pace-bowlers in international cricket and was a key member of both the 2009 and 2011 Ashes-winning England sides. Thanks to his fantastic form in the 2010/11 Ashes series in Australia, Anderson was ranked leading series bowler, taking an astonishing 24 wickets across the five matches.
So who better to kit out one of the highest-calibre players of today than Slazenger, whose impressive cricketing heritage and technological expertise speaks for itself. James will bat above his average with a little help from the Slazenger V100 – a super-lightweight, responsive bat constructed from hand-selected English willow and traditionally crafted for ultimate performance and quality. Featuring a concave back spine, the V100 is designed to be ultra maneuverable, with exceptional light pick-up for match-winning performance time after time.
